TECHNOLOGY FORUM LIFE SCIENCES WEEK 2021 - Phygital meeting
Big data and high performance computing in genomics

Area Espace Aosta Via Vittime Lavoratori del Col du Mont - 11100 AOSTA

The collection and reprocessing of Big Data is paving the way for major advances in the life sciences sector. The analysis of a large amount of data allows to innovate the entire chain, from research to clinical trials, up to the development of new therapies. In Valle d'Aosta the 5000genomi@VdA project has been realized through the construction of the Research Center dedicated to Personalized, Preventive and Predictive Medicine (the CMP3VdA), which aims to achieve better access to diagnosis and personalized therapies through the in-depth study of the DNA of each patient. Genomic Big Data is coupled with clinical history and lifestyle data through artificial intelligence and machine learning software.

From 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. there will be a guided tour in groups to the "Medical Genomics" and "Computational Genomics" departments of the CMP3VdA Center, home of the 5000genomes@VdA Project (reserved for in-person participants).
