Connected infrastructures that utilise sensors, intelligent systems and other technologies to enable the collection and exchange of information in real time will be key to enabling a sustainable future. In particular, the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in an infrastructure context will make it possible to generate enormously valuable information useful both for reducing operating costs and improving the performance of the infrastructure itself. Connected infrastructures are also the enabler for new development paradigms such as: smart-city, smart-building, smart-mobility. The opportunities to invest in connected infrastructures and exploit the data generated are significant, but it is necessary to identify a model that enables appropriate data governance according to a data-space concept. In this respect, the recent regulatory developments at European level in the area of the Data Act are opening up important prospects for development. Bearing in mind the needs of the sector, the meeting intends to take an in-depth look at the latest developments in the connected infrastructure market, with a focus on upcoming projects and how these can enable infrastructure operators to maximise their capabilities.
