Their efforts ensure that scientific breakthroughs not only reach the public domain but also achieve their maximum potential in societal benefit and economic value.
The first meeting of the 2024 Life Sciences Community will feature an in-depth exploration of the strategies employed by top European innovation ecosystems to effectively transfer scientific discoveries from the laboratory to the marketplace. More specifically, the discussion will investigate how TTOs interact with startups and spinoffs, how they support the growth of innovative entrepreneurial projects, and what structures, skills, or services they provide, through a comparative analysis with the best-in-class European entities. It will highlight the critical role of TTOs in fostering collaborations between academia, industry, and government agencies. It will also include analysis on successful case studies from each institute involved, as well as insights into the evolving landscape of European Technology Transfer in Life Sciences, highlighting both the challenges and emerging opportunities.
